Terms

By booking and taking part in any activity within Belfast Cookery School you agree to abide by our terms and conditions.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Places are booked on a first-come-first-served basis upon receipt of payment validation.  On booking and paying for a class(es) you will receive a booking and payment confirmation by email. The acknowledgement or processing of an order or quote does not constitute legal acceptance of your order or quote.

Confirmed bookings may not be cancelled in any circumstances. Bookings are, however, freely transferable to another person for the same class or to another scheduled class. Transfer requests must be received by Belfast Cookery School no less than 7 working days before the original session.  Please notify us of any change in the contact details provided as these will be used by Belfast Cookery School for all correspondence.

The school may need to change advertised menus, dependant on the availability of ingredients. Any changes will be advised by email prior to the classes start time.

Confirmed private bookings may not be cancelled under any circumstances.  We reserve the right to withhold any security deposits to cover any costs incurred by Belfast Cookery School. If a confirmed private event is cancelled 14 days or before it is scheduled to commence, Belfast Cookery School reserves the right to bill the party/organiser 40% of the total cost of the event.

Children under the age of 18 will not be permitted into any session unless this has been expressly stated within a specific class synopsis.  While the inclusion of minors maybe allowed in certain sessions, this is at the digression of The School and permission must be granted to the interested party before they carry out their purchase.
Belfast Cookery School reserves the right not to issue any refunds for places bought for children without the permission of The School before the purchase has been made.
At any time all children must be chaperoned by an adult and we accept no liability for any injury caused to the minor.  It is the responsibility of the  accompanying adult to safeguard a childs safety, and conduct any tasks which would be regarded as unsafe for children to carry out e.g. Knifework or dealing with hot liquids.

Liability

Belfast Cookery School will not accept responsibility for the loss of any personal possessions.  In the rare event BCS has to cancel or postpone a class due to unavoidable circumstances we will notify all confirmed attendees. Where 2 weeks or more notice is provided we will supply a credit note for the booking. Any less will be returned by card or BACs transfer. BCS will not be held liable for any indirect costs the participant may have incurred because of any change.

BCS will not be liable for any loss suffered resulting from any event which is beyond the reasonable control of Belfast Cookery School.  No failure or delay by Belfast Cookery School in enforcing any of its rights under the Contract shall be deemed to be a waiver of such right.

Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions

Upon receipt of a completed order form and appropriate validated credit/debit card payment, we will send you a receipt of confirmation by email giving you a unique code.

Our Booking Terms and Conditions set out at the bottom of the Belfast Cookery School booking form will apply to all bookings made with a gift voucher. The order confirmation contains all of the contractual terms agreed between you, the invoice addressee and Belfast Cookery School.

Gift vouchers are not refundable in any circumstances but are transferable to another person.  Please notify us of any change in the contact details provided as these will be used by Belfast Cookery School for all correspondence.  Gift vouchers will be valid for one year from date of purchase.

Special Dietary Requirements, Food Allergies & Illness

We will be happy to discuss course content beforehand and try our very best to accommodate dietary requirements as far as each session will allow. In certain cases we may have to exclude specific dishes and ingredients for the effected participants.  There is no reduction in fee in this instance.

Please inform us in advance of any allergies, disabilities, diabetes, pregnancy, epilepsy, learning difficulties etc.  Belfast Cookery School is a working kitchen and cannot guarantee the complete absence of any food substances or allergens.

Health & Safety

All participants should wear shoes with flat, non-slip soles and covered toes. We cannot admit you to the cookery school without proper footwear. We recommend wearing sensible clothing ie not your best outfit – we are not liable for any damage that occurs to clothing. Long hair must be tied back in the kitchen. All course participants will receive a short briefing on health and safety before commencing the course as well as a printed handout to take with them.

Your Conduct

If BCS considers that you have behaved in an unacceptable manner, we will be entitled to remove you immediately from any course you are currently participating in or booked onto the future. No refund of fees will be made.

Copyright & Acceptable Usage

Full copyright of course content developed by the Belfast Cookery School is retained by the BCS. Course notes and reference materials are provided to support students in their studies and ongoing cookery development and is issued for personal use only.

A lot of work has gone into the development of our course content and it has commercial value. The sharing of course materials by print, press, photocopy, email, blogs, internet or any digital transfer medium is strictly prohibited without the express written permission of the Belfast Cookery School directors. If in doubt, please ask about what is and isn’t acceptable usage.
