More than just a restaurant
The Belfast Cookery School is born out of love for food and the desire to share our experience with you. The School is open to all levels of experience and is designed to awaken, enliven or revitalise a passion for cooking with fresh ingredients and the best quality produce. The School has room for 16 students each with their own individual work station - all utensils, equipment and ingredients are provided to enable you to create your culinary masterpiece! Under the expert guidance of our experienced chefs you will be given a step by step lesson in creating a delicious meal you can re-create time and again at home to impress family and friends.
The Mourne Seafood Experience
At Mourne Seafood we pride ourselves on providing local seafood at an affordable price in both our Dundrum and Belfast restaurants. We are unique in Ireland as we source all their shellfish from our very own shellfish beds. The Dundrum restaurant is situated in the picturesque village of Dundrum, at the foot of the Mourne Mountains; the seafood bar is only 30 minutes drive from Belfast. The Belfast restaurant is situated in the centre of the busy capital of Northern Ireland.
Our menus are extensive, ranging from Mussels, Oysters to Lobsters, Langoustines and fresh fish. Every day we serve a range of specials depending on what has landed that morning at the local ports of Kilkeel and Annalong. Our aim is to introduce seafood lovers to some of our lesser known species such as Gurnard, Ling and John Dory. Not only are these fish delicious but increased usage takes pressure of threatened species such as Cod.
Our oysters, mussels and cockles are cultivated on our shellfish beds in nearby Carlingford Lough. The Lough with its deep cool waters provides the ideal conditions for growing shellfish. The waters are classified grade A and are constantly monitored to ensure our shellfish arrive at the table in first class condition.
For those not as enthusiastic about seafood as us we serve locally reared steaks and chickens. Our chefs will also be happy to prepare a delicious alternative for vegetarians. For our budding chefs we also sell fresh fish and shellfish to take away.
